I've been on Vocal for about a year. I once submitted an article which was only 488 words. I honestly forgot about the 600 word count when I submitted the article. They published it but sent me an email letting me know it was shorter than the required word count but because of its content, they chose to publish it. I guess I'll take that as a compliment.
